Using Whole Genome Sequencing, Minnesota-based technology, researchers have mapped and gained insights into the microbiome and how metabolically different groups of bacteria interact in the gut, specifically Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron and Bacteroides bulgaricus.
This gathering is an ongoing scientific resource for endocrinologists to present, learn and learn about the microbiome related to endocrine diseases, the public health effects of gut microbes (microbiomes), and gut microbiome transplantation.

“The combination of whole genome sequencing with metabolomic profiling is a powerful tool in its own right,” said Michael Diridon, M.D., senior author and a professor of genetics and biochemistry within the University of Minnesota Endocrinology Center.
